For starters, Devon and Elena have been getting more bonding scenes lately.

Elena and Devon are glad that they can be on good terms like this after all the highs and lows of their history.

However, Devon and Elena may ultimately find their past connection isn’t buried all that deep.

The friendship that Elena and Devon still have could easily turn into a forbidden romance.

Once Devon inevitably finds out Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) has been plotting against him, he may choose not to hold Nate’s actions against Elena.

Nate put Elena in a terrible position by sharing his Chancellor-Winters plans with her.

Elena may spill to Devon down the road or at least admit she knew once the truth comes out.

Even so, Devon can see that something’s bothering Elena and will surely remember that after all the puzzle pieces click into place.

Devon knows about Elena getting a room at The Grand Phoenix for a while, so he’ll eventually figure out that Elena was mad about Nate’s betrayal plot.

The fact that Elena tried to talk Nate out of this may matter a great deal to Devon.

Whatever the case, Devon and Amanda are trying to do a long-distance relationship at the moment.

Amanda has been watching over Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) in Virginia, where her mother has been getting the best possible care.

While Amanda’s away, Devon may grow even closer to Elena and land back in bed with her.

Now that Mishael Morgan has confirmed she’s on recurring, the show may want to sever Amanda’s romantic ties to Devon – just so that he’ll be a free man for other stories and shockers.

Morgan recently filmed a return stint that’s sure to bring some Amanda trouble when the time is right.

Will Amanda come home unexpectedly and find Devon in a compromising position with Elena?

Amanda may at least come home to proof of Devon cheating and decide that they’re over!
