Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo over is it because she overshared?

Yesterday we reported on the rumor that singer Jessica Simpson and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo had broken up. These two have had an on-off relationship that may have started in its latest incarnation around June, 2007. Then in November it became known that Tony spent Thanksgiving with Jessica’s family and it was declared a full-on romance. Now TMZ is confirming the news originally reported on These Boots are Made for Stalking that these two are no longer together. There is no confirmation from either of their reps.

Jessica’s attendance at one of Tony’s games in mid-December also happened to coincide with his worst performance ever, much to the annoyance and scrutiny of Cowboys fans. Jessica and Tony then went on vacation with her family and some of his teammates in Mexico on an off weekend before the playoffs in January. When the Cowboys lost in the playoff match the next weekend a lot of fans and sports pundits questioned Romo’s priorities.

Jessica recently overshared to am embarrassing degree
Jessica is featured on the cover of the June issue of Glamour on newstands now. In the accompanying article, she says she is “in love” with Tony, calls him her “future husband” and reveals how he tried to kiss her on the first date, gushing “The fact that this guy, on our first date, in the first 10 minutes of dinner, wanted to lean over the table and say, ‘This is my girl, and I want to kiss her’ — our first kiss in front of everybody — was awesome.” She also sort of revealed how she takes on the personality of the guys she dates, and in an obvious reference to her last relationship, with John Mayer, said “[Tony] reintroduced me to myself. I thought that I had to be deeper, more profound and more artsy. You change with the guys you date.”

You know Tony’s friends and teammates teased the crap out of him after that article came out and he must have been mortified. Many guys in a relatively new relationship would distance themselves from a woman if they heard she even said that to a friend – not to mention in print for the whole world to see and mock. Jessica, you really should have kept your mouth shut.
